I am thrilled that our dear clients, Suanne and Fatemeh had their beautiful wedding featured in the most recent issue of
Boston Weddings Magazine! (All photos this post:
Brea McDonald)
This was a wedding of firsts for us, our first same sex wedding, first Bar Harbor wedding, and first wedding I had my husband attend as my assistant...it was a special event for so many reasons.
I had the great fortune to work with friend and fabulous photographer,
Brea McDonald and to meet a new friend and incredible caterer, Mandy of
Bar Harbor Catering for Suanne and Fatemeh's wedding.
Wallace Tent provided the countless e-mails for rental coordination and the rental items for the party.
The
Balance Rock Inn was a gracious location, so historical and magical, with the perfect view of Frenchman Bay and Balance Rock itself.
Yours truly did the design and flowers for the event, a perfect fall dinner party for 25, ocean side on the Maine coast. The day was sparkling not just because of the perfect weather, but because of the palpable love, trust and acceptance that washed over the lawn at the Inn that afternoon. Suanne and Fatemeh were surrounded by close friends and family to celebrate their union, and the whole day had a calm and relaxed feel.
The multi course dinner following the ceremony and croquet on the lawn was an intimate candle lit occasion that I won't soon forget.
We decorated the cake with crab apples and birch branches from my garden and set the table with a river of moss, wooden boxes with birch branches, adorned with hanging moss wrapped votive candles, Atlantic beach stones and flowers in whites and greens, with rose hips from my sister's garden, and custom napkin bands with wood buttons and oatmeal colored fabric table runners. Green apples with a hand written, leaf tag were placed at each guests' seat for a seating card. Menus were printed on white burlap and a vintage tea service was used to serve coffee and tea.
Thank you Suanne and Fatemeh for allowing us to be a part of your special celebration, your wedding created fond memories for all of us involved!
