Swim Class

I only had a nap's duration to devote...I have had this "Swim Class" fabric in my stash and Ava squeals every time it makes a rotation in the " I will make something with this today" pile.
I only had about enough energy to make a pillow, so the Swim Class pillow was made, finished just as I heard a little "hi" come from the baby monitor, notifying me of a little waker.
Fortunately or not, depending on your outlook, the back pieces of the pillow cover came out a smidge small, so I dug in my stash and found these sweet little goldfish in a fishbowl buttons, I just had to have at the time. Perfect!
There was much inspection, button opening and delight when Ava came down from her nap.
The little swim class pillow is right at home with the other orange pillows on the couch...until next time during the nap!

Hey Megan,
I occasionally check out your blog for crafty ideas and have taken note of your love of MUSHROOMS. I wanted to let you know that I found the CUTEST little mushroom and fairy note cards (ala Ava's birthday) at Michael's in the DOLLAR bin. SO CUTE!

Love the pillow by the way! You've inspired me to get sewing again and I hope to take a knitting class soon with a ballet sweater for Anna at the top of my to-do list. My tendancy towards crafting has been to scrapbook since Anna has been born but I miss sewing terribly. I plan on making her American Girl doll a cord skirt this week!

it seems we not only have an owl fetish in common we also are drawn to orange. orange is my favorite color and has been for years. The pillow turned out great! good work!

meg,
there is a great tutorial on crazy mom quilts (her blog address in on my blog roll) it is really easy and I never would have tried it if i had not seen that tutorial.
if you want you can come over, or i can come over one night after the babes are in bed and show you how to do it. i love sewing it up, and seeing it in a nice lucious roll ready to be sewn on the quilt, or anything you want really.
let me know, i would love to have a binding party!
